The University of Zurich is one of the leading research universities in Europe and offers the widest range of study courses in Switzerland. The Interface Group is part of the Institute of Physiology at the University of Zurich. Its vision is to answer fundamental questions of physiology and address clinical needs through the convergence of engineering, biological and medical research. We combine computational techniques with experimental methods to establish comprehensive models of investigated systems. The tools used in our research include, but are not limited to, computational fluid dynamics, structural finite element analysis, micro-computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and live cell microscopy. Our current studies address challenges posed by pathologies in the kidneys, the brain and the cardiovascular system.
